The elected Miss actually only came fourth
The Miss world is in a state of shock. Four days after the election of Miss Caledonia, it was revealed that there had been a miscalculation. Mathilda Lelong actually came fourth. The real Miss was Emma Grousset. You can imagine the distress of the former Miss, who has yet to make a statement. So it’s Emma Grousset who will be going to France in a few weeks’ time to take part in the Miss France competition. She is the sister of swimmer Maxime Grousset, who holds several world swimming championship titles.
The organisers waited four days before announcing the news. This delay heightens suspicions. Admittedly, in New Caledonia, the Miss elections are not as important as they are in Polynesia. They do, however, have a huge impact and we haven’t heard the last of them…
