Anthony Tutugoro, 33, has become the first Caledonian to hold a doctorate in political science.

His thesis is entitled: “Analysis of strategies for regaining sovereignty by the independence movement in New Caledonia”.

Anthony Tutugoro worked on his thesis for seven years. The thesis was directed in collaboration between the University of New Caledonia and the University of French Polynesia. The former student did part of his studies in mainland France, at the University of Rennes 1 in Brittany. It is now to be hoped that this thesis will be published for the general public. We can also hope that it will be translated into English. This would give Anglo-Saxons in the Pacific region a better understanding of the political development of Caledonia.
