The attack took place in Arue on Sunday May 28.
After New Caledonia, Polynesia… A young woman kite-surfing on the Arue lake “was bitten quite seriously on the buttock by a shark at around 2:35 pm”.
The emergency services intervened immediately to take charge of her and evacuate her to hospital. Her life is not in danger. The municipal police were on the beach to discourage bathers from going into the water. Swimming is not prohibited, however.
