He is ahead of Valérie Pécresse
Wallis and Futuna did not vote exactly like its French cousins in New Caledonia and Polynesia. It is true that Emmanuel Macron is in the lead. Here he got 39.47% of the vote. Senator Mikaele Kulimoetoke, President Munipoese Muliaka’aka and the majority of the territorial assembly had called for a vote for the outgoing president. Where Wallis and Futuna stands out is with the candidate who came second. It is not the far right candidate, Marine Le Pen, but the Republican candidate, Valérie Pécresse with 25.2%. Marine Le Pen only got 10%. The second round will take place on 24 April. It will oppose Emmanuel Macron to Marine Le Pen.
Here are the results of the twelve candidates in Wallis and Futuna.
